Escape to the mountains for a cozy 3-night Galentine’s getaway made for romance readers, where we’ll be taking over an entire micro-resort just for our group! Settle into charming cabin accommodations, curl up by the fire with your latest read, explore mountain trails, and gather around the table for communal dinners and plenty of bookish fun.

We’re also teaming up with our friends at In Bloom Bookery, who will be transforming the resort’s gift shop into an on-site pop-up bookstore filled with romance reads, book merch, and special surprises to shop throughout the weekend!

About Our Booking Process

Why do we use a lottery system?

A random lottery system helps us keep the booking process smooth, fair, and glitch-free while managing reservations as thoughtfully as possible.

How long is the lottery open?

The lottery will be open from August 29, 2026 at 12pm PT, through September 1, 2026 at 11:59pm PT. Please click here to complete the Google Form and apply.

How are lottery winners notified?

Selected guests will receive a private booking link by email and will have 24 hours to claim their spot. After that window closes, we will move on to the next name.

How are spots allocated?

To welcome both familiar and new faces, 50% of available spots will be reserved for returning guests and 50% for first-time guests!

3-Night Stay: There are different price points depending on your room/bed configuration.

Meals

All Meals Included - A total of 3 dinners, 3 breakfasts, and 2 lunches. Snacks and non-alcohol beverages will be provided throughout the weekend as well. We will be sure to coordinate with guests regarding food allergies and preferences.

Retreat Book Pick + Welcome Gifts

Our retreat book club pick will be mailed to you in advance. Plus, welcome gifts include books and bookish merchandise on arrival!

Curated Activities

Pre-planned excursions, games, and group activities (see more details below) to connect with attendees. But don’t worry - there will be plenty of reading time!

Online Community

We’ll create a WhatsApp group chat so everyone can get to know each other before the trip, as well as host a Zoom call about 2 weeks before.

Welcome to our Idyllwild retreat home, a charming boutique micro-resort tucked among towering pines in the heart of the mountains. For the weekend, we’ll be taking over the entire property, with multiple cozy cabins creating our own little bookish village just minutes from downtown Idyllwild! It’s the perfect setting for crisp mountain mornings, uninterrupted reading, and evenings spent connecting with fellow book lovers.

Throughout the property, there are plenty of spaces to gather, relax, and settle in with a good book while surrounded by nature. Guests can also enjoy the heated pool, Finnish sauna, two cold plunges, yoga dome, and other thoughtfully designed amenities - giving the weekend that perfect balance of cozy mountain escape and just a little indulgence.

Retreat Book Pick 

We are thrilled to share that our February retreat book pick is Too Cold for Comfort by the brilliant and bestselling romance author Nisha J. Tuli!

In this steamy small-town romance, the arctic heats up when a Aadya, wildlife photographer who rarely holds anything back is forced to share a private wing with Reid, a grumpy lodge owner who holds everything in. Spend the afternoon in Idyllwild’s historic Rustic Theatre with a private screening of a classic romance film (TBD!). Prefer a little extra time downtown after the movie? We’ll also provide a custom Boutique Book Society guide to Idyllwild, featuring our favorite shops and charming stops, all within walking distance of the theater.

In Bloom Bookery Pop-Up Bookstore

We’re excited to collaborate once again with our friends at In Bloom Bookery for a pop-up romance bookstore, taking over the resort’s gift shop for the weekend! Shop a curated selection of winter and small-town romances, plus special bookish merch and extra surprises.

Secret Galentine Exchange

About a month before the retreat, you’ll be matched with a fellow guest and get a peek at their bookish favorites. Your mission: create a thoughtful $25 bookish surprise to gift your Galentine during the weekend!

Book Club Meeting

Structured book club discussion over food where we dive into it together! Come prepared with all your thoughts, opinions, and hot takes.

Crafting Activities

We’ll have an assortment of crafts for you to enjoy at any time. This may include book bedazzling, Valentine's making station, cozy coloring books, vision board crafting, etc.

Reading Downtime

There will be plenty of time to sit back, relax, and dive into your latest read.
